“Vision of a Fashion God” - The Paradox Between Human Spirituality + High Reverence for Fashion

P. Scott, a New York painter and fashion designer who now lives in Chicago, has fused
th references to fashion brands in “Vision of a Fashion God.” The series of paintings,
including “Gucci Buddha,” “Polo Christ,” and “Kali Vuitton,” explores the paradox between
human spirituality and high reverence for fashion. Created in color pallets reflecting those of the
brands encoded in the paintings, the multi-media works combine acrylic, oil and spray paint,
charcoal, pastels, and ink on fabric.
