Falling Whistles on Human Rights Day

We received this e-mail from our friends over at Falling Whistles who have been doing great work toward securing peace in the Congo and we wanted to pass it along to all of you. Even though December 10 is only one day, you can do this any day, everyday!

Here's their message:



"The Declaration of Human Rights outlines what FW would consider "success" in our fight for peace in Congo. Check it out HERE

In order to get there it will require a great deal of sacrifice from a great many people, institutions, organizations, governments and corporations. All of us profit by the exploitation of the Congolese people. Moving towards a more secure twenty-first century, we will need to reinvest that money back into Congo and rebuild.

So let the giving begin with us.

On December 10th, we're asking each of you to give your whistle away. Give it as a free gift of love. In giving, share with people about human rights, why they are important for us all, and why you are working toward peace in our world's deadliest war.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Download the image HERE from the Falling Whistles facebook album. Make it your profile picture and Twitter icon. While you're at it, add us.
2. Download this .PSD file onto a thumb drive or email it to a nearby print shop. It's a big file so keep the link handy. 2 colors print would be great but it also works as 1 color.
3. Rally a Crew and Go Buy Wheat Paste or Tape from an art store or hardware store (Wallpaper paste works fine too ).
4. Get an old broom and plaster the desired surface with paste. Then use the broom to apply poster and brush out any air bubbles.
5. Don't get caught.
6. Tell everyone you know. Blog it post it email it out.
7. Send us photos and stories of you and your new partner in peace.

Keep speaking up - it gives everyone around you permission to do the same.
