About a month or so ago, Aja Monet invited some of the H.A.S. staff to a private studio listening session. We were warned but were not ready for what Aja Monet is offering the music world.
Scared To Make Love/Scared Not To is Aja Monet's ode to the state of love as we know it. It is Aja Monet's first full-length musical endeavor and she loaded the music with a balance of depth, strength, and love. While speaking poetic words, spitting ill flows and singing melodic notes, Aja Monet explores a romantic marriage between lyrics and music which is felt in the lead single, Lady Orpheus. She then goes on to share a lesson in seduction on Sex Cymbal. By the way, Sex Cymbal is one of our favorites on the album because it makes your head nod by itself...the sure mark of a great track! But don't get it twisted, Scared To Make Love/Scared Not To, is more than just a reference to love but rather a movement in the name love.
