We received an early release of Reflection Eternal’s new album “Revolutions Per Minute” and immediately began to play it with enthusiasm. The intro gets you hooked and there are some great cameos by J. Cole, Mos Def, Bun B, Estelle and a few others. Maybe it’s just us but it also seems like Talib is a bit “edgier” for lack of better words, on this project. It kind of got me thinking of how I was in a meeting recently with a marketing firm and we were discussing albums and mixtapes that would be releasing around the time the artist we were discussing is releasing a mixtape. He said something along the lines of “Talib and Hi-Tek’s new album drops the same day, but only old heads are checking for them...” At first I wondered, “Am I an old head?” Then I wondered, “Do younger hip-hop fans respect and appreciate say a Talib Kweli?”
Well, what do you think?
